Chemical attack drills held in Yokosuka

6 weeks and 4 days to go.

This is getting slightly worrying.

" YOKOSUKA Local defense and police personnel, and U.S. Navy firefighters stationed at Yokosuka base in Kanagawa Prefecture, took part Tuesday in drills involving simulated chemical attacks by terrorists. "

What the hell, you can not live for ever. The only difference between Japan and Northern ireland is the lower risk of being killed by terriosts and the type of weapon used.

My view on life is a simple one.

"If you are alive, you are alive. If you die, you nolonger give a damn if you ever did."

Update on holiday infoi

6 weeks and 5 days to go.

Just received word that there is currently 8 people including myself booked on the tour and they expect to have another 4 people by the time the tour commences.

I will be booking a mobile phone to use while on holiday. The mobile phone rental is a flat rate of 35 for upto a month which includes 3,200 Yen (about 17.11) of calling credit.

The cost of internationl calls is 72 Yen per minute, so I will have 44 minutes to start with.

It's a pay as you go so all I have to do is buy more top up cards when needed. Better than renting one using a credit card. This way I know how much it is going to cost and won't have the possibility of error in the cost of usage.

TOKYO The Japan Meteorological Agency and its volcanic research panel plan to increase the number of volcanoes under surveillance from the current 86 to 108, sources close to the discussions said Friday.

An official decision on the increase will be made at a meeting Tuesday of the Coordination Committee for the Prediction of Volcanic Eruptions, they said. (Kyodo News)
